Dizzy's Club Coca Cola

RUN, Don't WALK to this club this weekend!!! 

Not only is the music incredible, Bobby Hutcherson (vibes master) is performing but they have a visiting chef from New Orleans!  Once a year they invite a guest chef and Tom Wolfe has created a fabulous menu.  You can order the menu ala carte or prix fixe at $35.00 including the recommended wine.  I must admit, though I was drinking Chianti, the recommended wine was perfect with it's peppery taste.  Now, I'm not a big scallop fan but the appetizer was spectacular.  If you don't have plans this weekend or to watch the Superbowl, so check out  Dizzy's Club Coca Cola.

The "Queen Sheila"

Please forgive this "shameless" self promotion...I am trying to convince Dizzy's Club Coca Cola to officially add this drink to their menu.  It is in the system so should you order one they will be happpy to make it for you, however, it is not listed on the drink menu.  To find out the ingredients look in the section "Food and Drink" on this blog.

The BEST Toffee and other delights!

Sweets for the sweet...if you have not heard, Nicky Mesiah, President of Mesiah Event Planners, Inc. has some great desserts. Read all about her in the Montclair Times. She also makes a great red velvet cake...It is never too late to order up some sweets and other goodies for a party, or as a gift. Nicky once gave me a box of toffee to give to someone but due to circumstances beyond my control I ended up offering it up to my friends in Los Angeles where I was staying and we all enjoyed the toffee. And, I could not go to Peter Jennings home unless I showed up with the toffee, his wife too loved the treat.

A different drink/"The Queen Sheila"

Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola

Kudos to one of my favorite bartender's, Chris Meissner, for creating a drink called “Queen Sheila.”  It is a blend of pineapple juice, limejuice, tequila, coconut rum, and sugar.  This tasty drink is a tad sweet; that is OK, it resembles my personality...LOL.

On-air-host, Awilda Rivera, said that his “martini’s are DIVINE,” (she likes Vodka, straight up with lots of olives).  So, if you don’t want something sweet order a martini, or have the wine.  They have great wine selections, Rioja was my favorite red served there, however, they have a fabulous Chianti, now my red of choice.

Chris works Tuesday through Sunday.  Please tell him hello when you go.  And, try a "Queen Sheila."

Note:  Since writing this entry Chris is no longer at Dizzy's, BUT, Patrick has taken over and he is just as gracious as Chris had been.  If you sit at the bar, like I do, let him know that I sent you.
