Hello, all, my blog is a little over one week old and your responses have been INCREDIBLE! I want to thank you for visiting my blog and I hope that you will check often. Folks, your comments sent to my e-mail have been really cool but the fun of a blog is to have lots of interaction between you readers. PLEASE post your comments in the "comments" section of the post that you wish to respond to. If you are new to blog life you will see a number in (0) to indicatate how many, if any, people have responded. Let's have some fun...!
Since my blog launching on November 5, 2006, two features have been added, with more to come.
1. Ads by Google and a Donation Box. If you care to help me maintain this blog, please make a donation (no donation too small, or large). Look on the right side of this home page for more information about each.
2. My dear friend, Eric Reed (ericreed.net), has agreed to write a column called “Reed’s Creeds,” which will follow shortly. This will be his thoughts, not mine (though we often see eye to eye on many issues). Trust me, you will want to read what he has to say. Pianist, Eric Reed is one of the young, thinking, voices on the jazz scene today.
3. Soon I will feature a calendar for you to see what is happening, in advance, and/or where I plan to be each week. Also, in December, I intend to offer video clips….
Please continue to check this blog, if you like what you read, tell your friends, and your enemies (LOL). In other words, SPREAD THE WORD!
To quote the following (I LOVE QUOTES):
The amount of money one needs is terrifying...
---Ludwig Van Beethoven
People who make a living doing someting they DON'T like wouldn't be happy with a one-day work week.
---Duke Ellington
Don't forget after the concert to purchase my latest record. Remember, if you don't like it, you can give it to someone you don't like.
---Slide Hampton, Trombonist and bandleader, at one of his performances.
As told to Bobby Sanabria, drummer, percussionist
OK, you can find all of these quotes in my book, "The Quotable Musician: From Bach to Tupac."
